Our foundation: built on trust and excellence
DDL Design was formed in 2014 in the interior design space. In 2017, after working with a local General Contractor learning project management and estimating, we connected with an installer in the specialty siding trade. Our passion for details and accuracy was well suited for compiling accurate material estimations and project specific shop drawings with cut-to-fit fiber cement and metal rainscreen systems. We have also been able to provide material estimation and shop drawing services for a material supply company since 2019. We bring value to each project, lending insight into the design intent for a variety of facade materials. Our background allows us to easily talk with Architects and Design teams to understand their design intent and communicate information effectively to Project Managers and Installers. We thrive on details. This has become our niche expertise.
Our process
We quote each job based on the project plans. Email your plans with information on the scope(s) you are interested in. We use PlanSwift for all of our material estimation. We can capture area only for budgetary purposes, or full take-offs with trim quantities for projects with construction documents. Our material estimates come with a visual layout showing where material is located. You have the opportunity to review the estimation, ensuring all anticipated scopes were captured. Shop Drawings require a material estimate to be completed to ensure we understand the logic of the project and account for all basis of design.

SHOP DRAWINGS
Once you receive your LOI or Contract, that is the time to begin working through project specific installation details for the scopes included in your contract. The turnaround time corresponds to scope complexity.
SCOPE COLLABORATION
During the material estimation and shop drawing process, we are available to join scope reviews with architects, design teams, project managers, or other necessary stakeholders to resolve design or scope conflicts in house, minimizing your conflicts in the field.
